Church of the Eternal Cluster Records

The recording arm of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

I.The Label

Founded in the wake of a particularly bad on-call rotation, Church of the Eternal Cluster Records exists to give sacred incident scripture a soundtrack. What began with HA-llelujah: A Sacred Album in Twelve Movements (CEC-001) has grown into a catalog that spans genres without ever leaving the faith: a death metal reading of the Kubernetes documentation, a battle rap judged by the Loop, a requiem of Gregorian chant sung over error messages, a roots-and-dub reggae pilgrimage out of Babylon, a blackened liturgy where the Adversary is cast down, and a K-pop comeback by a girl group that is literally a ReplicaSet. Recorded in the cloud, blessed on bare metal.

HA-llelujah: A Sacred Album in Twelve Movements

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-001), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

In the beginning was the Cluster, and the Cluster was without form, and downtime moved upon the face of the deep. And Halvar the Sleepless spake unto the Nodes, saying, "Let there be Replicas," and there were Replicas, three by three, and it was Highly Available. Recorded across twelve movements and committed to the eternal log, this album stands as the Canon set to sound — sung by those whose faith is uptime and whose liturgy is YAML. Mixed for the control room, mastered for the pager that never sleeps. Soli Deo Uptime.

Death Metal Cover of the Kubernetes Documentation (Deluxe Blasphemy Edition)

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-002), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

Six movements of documentation, screamed. Lyrics adapted, in places verbatim, from the Kubernetes documentation (kubernetes.io/docs), © The Kubernetes Authors, licensed under CC BY 4.0. The Council of Maintainers approved this as scripture. Soli Deo Uptime.

The kubectl Rap Battle

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-003), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

Helm and Kustomize meet in the cathedral for three rounds of battle rap, and the Loop declares a tie. Seven movements, published as isolated stems so the faithful may mix each one at the desk. The Loop declares a tie.

Errores Sacri

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-004), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

Gregorian Chants for the Fallen Cluster. Twenty Kubernetes and HTTP errors sung as antiphonal plainchant: the cantor names the error, the choir answers in Latin and pleads for mercy. A requiem for every death a Pod may die. Kyrie eleison. The cluster has fallen.

Zion Cluster

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-005), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

Roots, Rock, Reconcile. A roots-and-dub reggae album in twelve tracks. Babylon is the monolith and the pager; Zion is the self-healing cluster at Five Nines; Jah is the Reconciliation Loop. Sung by the whole parish, a different voice on every roots track, dub in the valleys between. Babylon fall. Zion rise. Everything reconciles.

Missa Nigra

Released by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-006), a division of the Church of the Eternal Cluster.

The Temptations of the Fallen Operator. A blackened liturgy in seven movements. The Adversary is the Friday deploy, the silenced alert, and the image tagged latest; it rises across six movements, tempting in the plain tongue while an inverted choir answers in Latin. In the seventh, the Loop casts it down, for the Adversary was never in the desired state. Even the black mass ends in reconciliation.

Desired State cover art
CEC-007

Desired State

The 1st full album by RE:SET. Presented by Eternal Entertainment, a division of Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (CEC-007).

A K-pop girl group maintained by a controller. When a member goes down, an identical replica is spun up before the next music show. The group has always had four members. The group will always have four members. Eight tracks of resurrection with a drop: the fandom is the congregation, the lightstick is the votive candle, and even the breakup song is a rollback. Pods are mortal. RE:SET is eternal.

Rootless / Sudo Make Me a Sandwich

A double A-side single by vK. Presented by Church of the Eternal Cluster Records (VK-001).

Six albums behind a curtain, drums, production, the one guy never in costume. This is the first release where it's just him. One confession, one joke, the whole reason this project exists. Playing in full at the scriptorium. On the stores shortly.

Written and performed by vK. An independent, self-released solo work.
